The Challenge

Skanska is one of the biggest construction companies in the world and employs thousands of people in the UK. Keeping staff in the Central London head office healthy and happy is critical to maximising efficiency, meeting business goals, and ensuring Skanska is a great place to work.

Good indoor air quality is key as the presence of pollutants like dust, mould, and lingering cigarette smoke can cause serious health problems, including headaches, nausea, and lung diseases.

Last year, Skanska asked ICE Cleaning to provide its air quality testing services across all three floors of its head office, and help them improve their air quality.

 

The Solution

ICE Cleaning sent a team of technicians to use specialist testing equipment that could determine whether the air quality met their high standards. Their state-of-the-art technology can also identify the origins of any unpleasant odours and poor air quality so they can advise on how to improve it.

The technicians regularly clean the office, too. They use industry-leading cleaning products to wipe down surfaces, dispose of waste, clean bathroom facilities and the kitchen, polish the floors, and decontaminate the entire office.

 

The Outcome

By improving their air quality, ICE Cleaning helped Skanska become of the few companies in the UK to achieve the WELL certification, an international system that helps organisations improve health and well-being for their employees in their buildings. It is based on seven different concepts including air quality, water quality, and comfort.

Skanska were delighted with their work and still bring them in regularly for office cleaning. The ICE Cleaning team is looking forward to developing their working relationship with Skanska in the future.
