Consultant Flood Damage Cleaning Services

We can be on-site in under an hour to provide a fast, reliable cleaning service.

We’re a local, reliable cleaning company based in the South East of England.

One in six properties is at risk of flooding across the UK, and you are more likely to experience a flood than a burglary. When a flood devastates your home or property, it may be unsafe to clean it yourself. Living in a high-risk area can make it hard to keep up with cleaning away contaminated floodwaters.

Our expert cleaners at ICE Cleaning have years of industry experience in flood water damage cleaning. They offer efficient and professional cleaning services that adhere to the highest quality of decontamination. We have access to state-of-the-art tools that thoroughly dry and clean your home, making it a safe place to occupy again.

Our bespoke range of flood damage cleaning services is second to none.

When you contact our friendly support team, we will ask you for as many details as possible regarding the cleaning you need. Photographs and videos are vital for us to identify the extent of water damage present, and we can give you a free, no-obligation quote over the phone. This information allows our technicians to understand the equipment they need to bring and how to tackle decontamination.

Our cleaners will arrive on-site to conduct a free site survey, identifying risks and hazards on the property. Once this is complete, they extract excess water from the site and dry the home with HEPA filter technology. They will then decontaminate all surfaces, removing all waste off-site safely. We always remain on-site until you are satisfied with the work.

What is flooding?

Insurance firms use two definitions of flooding to distinguish between the types of floods and the risks they present. An "escape of water" is described as water damage from broken or leaky appliances and pipes, whereas a "flood" is characterised as damage from an outside, natural event. This helps insurers appropriately reimburse their clients and amend their policies.

Due to other elements that aggravate water flow, flooding may become a frequent occurrence because water is an essential natural resource to a lifecycle. Flooding could happen throughout the UK, while certain places might be more vulnerable since they are close to water. Examples of natural flooding are:

  • River floods
  • Coastal floods
  • Surface water floods
  • Groundwater floods
  • Drain and sewer floods
  • Reservoir floods

What makes the types of floods different?

There are six types of flooding that can occur, and they all have the potential to damage your property and impact your health. When the Met Office issues a warning, it will inform you of the type of flood.

River flooding

When a river bank absorbs a lot of rain, the water level rises and causes the soil to become saturated. This might happen further down the channel or at the river's source. In the UK, this kind of flooding occurs most frequently.

Coastal flooding

Flooding can occur when low or dry land close to the ocean is overwhelmed by high tides or excessive seawater. Storms or tidal conditions potentially exacerbate flooding. Because seawater naturally erodes on solid surfaces and causes structural damage, coastal flooding may be catastrophic.

Surface water flooding

Floods of this type could happen anywhere in the UK, even in low or medium-risk areas. Saturated soils or obstructed drainage systems during severe weather enhance surface water flooding. Urban locations with impermeable surfaces are more prone to experience surface water floods.

Groundwater flooding

Water stored underground might gradually come to the surface when it rains. This can surge above normal levels during periods of excessive rainfall or severe storms, exposing areas with high hills or steep slopes to a higher risk of groundwater flooding.

Reservoir flooding

Due to the artificial nature of the water body, these floods can be uncommon, but if a structural problem develops, water might leak out of the reservoir and create flooding. They are dangerous to encounter since the currents in the water may be rather powerful.

Sewer floods

This type of flood happens when sewage drains fill up or get clogged because of excess rainfall, which can contaminate the surrounding area. The possibility of sewage water contamination in drinking water increases, and consuming this water results in fatal illness.
