What causes mould?
Mould grows in your home when there is lots of excess moisture, such as damp or high humidity, and a lack of or poor ventilation. This is often the case in kitchens and bathrooms as cooking and washing produces lots of steam and makes surfaces wet.
Water damage may also lead to mould growth, such as a leaky roof, burst pipe or poor plumbing structure. Mould thrives in dark environments with a consistent source of water as UV light can kill the harmful fungus.
