If you are in the process of implementing a periodic cleaning schedule, there are a number of factors to take into consideration.

There are a number of steps which should be taken by pub and restaurant owners to minimise the risk of bacteria and viruses causing staff and customers to fall ill.

After all, if your own employees do not feel safe in their own workplace, how can you expect your business to attract customers?

An unsanitary pub or restaurant is likely to suffer from loss of customers. Even your most loyal customers will not want to eat at a restaurant known for neglecting the required hygiene standards.

How to meet hygiene requirements:

  • Ensure your building has proper ventilation
    Correct ventilation is required to both prevent mould from forming on your site and minimise the risk of your staff and customers suffering from the effects of organic smoke. 
  • Employ hygiene stations around the premise
    Provide hand sanitiser to your employees and in other areas within the building to encourage good personal hygiene. 
  • Provide extra bins for workers and customers
    To prevent individuals from leaving dirty tissues, napkins and other used items scattered around, provide more bins. This way, they’ll have no reason to litter, leading to a cleaner environment. 
  • Wipe down surfaces between customers
    Clean any surfaces that your customers have used as soon as they leave their table. This will ensure a high quality of cleanliness, clearing away any food stains and germs.
  • Organise a professional cleaning company to carry out a deep cleaning regularly
    Regular cleans conducted by your cleaners should take place daily, however, a professional company should be hired to complete a thorough clean of the entire premise at least once a month.
